Pass the pap

There's more to this local favourite than meets the eye

Pass the pap

Next time you’re at a braai, dish up an extra spoonful of our local favourite, pap. This staple of many South African diets has been found to contain anti-carcinogens, which assist the body in fighting cancer. According to the Cancer Association of South Africa’s Dr Carl Albrecht, pap ‘produces fatty acids that kill off cancer cells’. To maximise the health benefit, eat your pap slightly cooled.

Being gluten intolerant, I love maize products! Since the maize board disbanded, we need a new source of maize-based recipes... Fairlady want to take us up on that? :)
