I have always struggled with dry, chapped lips. I’ve tried so many lip balms but they just don’t help! What can I use that will help? - @Punkapicky
Dry, chapped lips can be such a pain. I also suffer from them, especially if I’ve been spending a lot of time outside in the wind. I recently tried Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Lip Butter and I’m in love! It contains Vitamin E, Petrolatum and Palmer’s specially formulated cocoa butter and as soon as you apply it to your lips, they feel instantly soothed. The peppermint flavour and intense burst of moisture even add a tingle to your lips. It’s available at Clicks, Dis-Chem, Pick N Pay and selected pharmacies. Go ahead and try it!
Is serum important if you use moisturizer twice a day? – Busi Bongi
Honestly, I only started learning the importance of using a facial serum when I began interning at the Beauty Department at FAIRLADY Magazine. Different facial serums target different skin problems; namely dehydration, fine lines, redness and pigmentation. Because a serum contains ingredients of a higher concentrate, it is able to penetrate deeper into the skin, therefore giving faster results. It’s best to apply a serum onto a clean, damp face and neck area. After the serum has absorbed, apply your moisturizer. Decide what serum would best suit your skin type and your budget, and you’re good to go!
I moisturize everyday but the moment we Winter arrives, my normal body lotion doesn't cut it, leaving the skin on my legs exceptionally dry. Please help! – Aqeela West
We truly underestimate how harsh the winter months are, especially for our poor skin! I'd recommend buying a good body scrub (The Body Shop has some delicious-smelling ones!) and exfoliating your body at least twice a week. After that, apply an incredibly rich body cream (preferably one that contains Vitamin E oil extract; Nivea has some great ones!) and I’m sure you’ll notice the dryness subsiding in no time.
