How to brighten up your eyes

6 July 2011

Disguise late nights and no sleep with these tips for sparkling eyes.

How to brighten your eyes1 Prepare the eye area by applying an eye cream, such as Aqualia Thermal Eye Roll-On R257, to the area below your lash line. Massage cream in gently with your index finger, from the inner corners of your eyes to the outer corners. Wait until the cream has been fully absorbed.

2 Using a light-reflecting concealer like Physicians Formula Concealer Twins 2-in-1 Correct & Cover Cream Concealer R120, place three small dots below each eye. Blend well. Set with a sweep of Dior Skin Extreme Fix Long-Lasting Loose Powder in 011 R475. Don’t forget to curl your lashes; we love Tweezerman Classic Lash Curler R152.

3 With a matte beige eye shadow, such as Givenchy’s Le Prisme Mono Eye shadow in Couture Beige R300, blend colour onto your eyelids, working up towards your brow bone. Use a lighter, more iridescent shade on the inner corners of the eyes. We like Bloom Shimmer Liquid Eye Shadow in Neptune R145.

4 To boost brilliance, line the inner rims of your eye with a pencil in a pearly or matte white. Try Michellori Deux Coleurs Eye Pencil in 640 White & Black R61,95. Steer clear of darker eyeliners, as these tend to exaggerate dark circles or swollen eyes.

5 Add a touch of colour to either your cheeks or lips as this will subtly draw attention away from your eyes. For a gorgeous blush, try Golden Rose Terracotta Blush-On R89,99.

Annie

HI there Could you please inform me what the difference is between "cheap" eyelash curlers and the more expensive ones (like Tweezerman). Would really appreciate it Many thanks Annie
