Hot Hair Trend: Pastel Locks
You can’t help but fall in love with this exciting, new trend!
Undoubtedly my favourite hair trend at the moment is pastel hair. Women of all ages are dip-dying their locks every colour of the rainbow.
We chat to hair guru, David Gillson of Carlton Hair about the My Little Pony hair inspiration:
Q: Why, in your opinion, has the pastel hair trend become such a phenomenon?
David: This trend has taken off due to a backlash from all the Über natural looks we saw over the past few seasons (such as the ombré trend). All women began to look the same and a strong look was needed to set them apart again.
Q: Where did this trend originate?
David: This trend started in London. The salon that actually created this trend is called Bleach! (Visit their website here: http://bleachlondon.co.uk/). There, they simply bleach the hair and add amazing pastel tones. It’s frequented by the likes of London trendsetters such as the Geldof girls and Kelly Osbourne.
Q: Can women of all ages and hair types pull off this trend?
David: This is such a fun trend that can be worn by women of all ages, and done on all hair types. For example, look at Elle Macpherson's new look (at age 48) with her baby blue and mint green tips!
Q. What is the most popular pastel colour that women love to put in their hair?
David: Rose pink, peach and baby blue are the most popular colours.
My beauty intern Marieke and I recently underwent rainbow transformations. What do you think? Would you ever try out the pastel trend?
