An afternoon of bliss
Senior beauty assistant, Catherine Zachariou was invited to experience an afternoon at Ambiente Spa in Cape Town.
The end of year signals a time of stress and panic as deadlines loom and family visits abound. So what better time than now to experience a delicious massage, a soothing facial and a chic manicure to tide me over until the new year.
I was lucky enough to be invited by beauty therapist Surika Arendse (a beauty therapist by day and belly dancing teacher by night) to experience these treatments at the Ambiente Spa. Also qualified in ancient Thai massage and aromatherapy, I was only too pleased to experience a massage from her. Surika started by asking me if I had any ailments in particular that I would like her to rectify through massage. After blending a mixture of soothing oils she gently kneaded any knots out of my body. I was left almost comatose from being so relaxed.
I then experienced a Gatineau Purifying Facial where Surika expertly applied a range of divine Gatineau products, which cleaned and hydrated my skin. Lastly and definitely not least my battered hands and nails were given a clean up and painted a scrumptious shade from Essie. Surika’s wonderful manner and calm aura ensured I left the spa feeling utterly relaxed and ready for the final stretch of 2011.
What I experienced:

Express Manicure (R90)
Gatineau Purifying Facial (R330)
