My Spa Day Away...

Peaceful, lush scenery, a warm friendly environment and spa treatments to die for, are what greeted me one bleak winters morning at the Sante Hotel Resort and Spa, nestled amongst the Simonsberg Mountain range, thanks to online social buying site Wicount. I was treated to a pampering day of scrubs, rubs and toe nibbling (more on that later).

After arriving at the spa and warming up with a nice cup of tea myself and other beauty peeps were bustled into the spa changing rooms to transform ourselves into ladies of the Spa in the softest gowns I have ever felt. First up for me was a foot soak. Sitting atop a warmed seat with my feet in the heated water,  I soon became snug looking out over a gorgeous view of the surrounds. This was followed by a stint in the steam room, which was beautifully mosaicked and featured colour changing lights which soothed me into a relaxed stupor. The spa also feature Multi “experience showers” which really are an experience in them selves. Each of the many buttons in the shower offer a different ‘experience’ whether it be, a cool refreshing shower, scented water, rainforest mist or massaging side spouts.

Thoroughly refreshed I moved onto possibly the most bizarre treatment I have ever experienced, the Dr Fish Spa Therapy treatment. Definitely not something I would have done again, but I can’t deny the shrieks of joy (or fear) coming from the treatment rooms were something to giggle and marvel at. My feet did feel surprisingly smoother after the treatment and were spoiled further by an ultra relaxing back and foot massage and scrub. Now I am quite the weakling when it comes to massages, I usually squirm and stop breathing, which tends to freaks the therapist out. This time it was different, not once did I squirm or pretend everything was fine whilst inside it wasn’t. My therapist artfully worked out every knot in my back, smoothed the skin with a zingy back scrub and repeated the process on my feet.

After a delicious lunch I was off for my last treatment of the day (sigh) a Theravine facial which was simply divine.

And just like that, my day at the spa was over. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Sante Spa and Wicount for this highly recommended day, it really was a treat.
