Spa Review: Bliss at the Andros Boutique Hotel
Elizabeth Atmore reviews the reflexology treatment at this gorgeous spa...
Growing up, my favourite evening treat was to lie on the couch with my feet in my mom’s lap as she kneeded and prodded away at all my reflexology pressure points. (And yes, I’ll be honest, I still put my feet up for massaging whenever I visit).
So, arriving at Bliss at the Andros for a 30 minute reflexology treatment, I had high standards: I required a firm touch, with sensitivity to my more tender areas, the theory of reflexology being that these areas reflected a problem in the corresponding organ.
Megan, owner and therapist of the spa, was very welcoming (although perhaps the room could have been a touch warmer on what was a very chilly Monday), and chatted away as she worked on my feet. Although I’d have liked a little explanation of the various areas she worked on, her hands were firm and assured and by the time my 30 minutes were up I felt that I’d had a thorough treatment.
I’d be eager to go back during summer, when I’d imagine it would be a slightly sunnier treatment room.
