Garnier Skin Naturals BB Cream
A clever cream that combines skincare with mineral pigments to offer great coverage.
I had heard quite a bit of buzz around BB creams but didn’t really know too much about them. While I prefer to stick to my ‘tried and tested’ products and routine, every so often I am tempted to try a new product that everyone is talking about. So while I was tempted to test out a BB cream, I didn’t know which one. And then one of my closest friends showed me her tube of Garnier B.B Cream and exclaimed, ‘Try it Jen, it’ll change your life.’
Let me list the reasons behind my hesitation for erring away from my usual facial routine. I have suffered with problem skin for most of my life and I’m really prone to breakouts. On top of this I have a very sensitive complexion AND I have eczema. So, when someone I know (who knows my skin woes so well) can recommend a product then I know I need to try it.
While toiletry shopping I spied a tube of it and when I realised it was just R79.99 I was sold and threw it in my shopping basket. Let me start by explaining that B.B stands for Blemish Balm and Garnier promises that this ‘all-in-one skin solution’ will perfect your skin. When I read this I’ll admit I was sceptical, I’ve tried a few tinted moisturisers and while I like how light they are, they offer very little coverage so I couldn’t believe that this cream could ‘blur imperfections and redness’. But this is one time I was very happy to be proved wrong. This little miracle cream offers fantastic coverage and with a hint of face powder I thought my skin looked great. In fact, it was comparable to when I wear foundation. My skin didn’t feel dry and I love the fact that it offers a sun protection of SPF 15.
Reading up I discovered that this cream combines skincare with mineral pigments. Using a derivative of Vitamin C the cream has both antioxidant and illuminating properties so it cares for your skin while giving great coverage and making your skin look dewy and fresh. It’s the perfect all-rounder cream. While I started out sceptical, I now love this cream and have added it to my make-up bag essentials. At just R79.99 it’s definitely worth a try.
