Durban fashion shoot l Day One
Chu and Cara jetted off to sunny Durban for a full week of shooting summer fashion - follow their blog here.
We hit the skies and jetted off to a very hot and humid Durban on Monday to shoot four editorials for our upcoming issues, and got off to a rocky start when I tried to use a GPS in our rental car - I'm somewhat technically challenged!
Once we finally headed off, nervously guided by a little TomTom, we were thrilled to reach our hotel, The Concierge, off Florida Road - a very happening area with some great restaurants and shops. The Concierge definitely offers its guests a visual treat for the creative eye!
It's super trendy with quirky details everywhere you look. Plantation blinds, wooden furniture, a mini veranda, iPod dock, see through bathroom, tribal dressing gowns by local designer Colleen Eitzen and interesting wire chandeliers. It’s super modern and perfect for a central stay. A lot of care has been taken to create this awesome space; it’s worth a visit, even if it’s just to the restaurant, Freedom Café.
Then the unpacking began. Suitcase after suitcase and a hair trial later, we were ready to start the shoot! Chu scouted locations before the rest of us arrived, and his excitement is infectious.
We're shooting in gorgeous locations this week and I'm excited to explore Durban, so log on travel with us!
