The sun does seem to be shining on J.M. Coetzee.

J.M. Coetzee has recently been announced the recipient of the 2010 Christina Stead Prize for Fiction for his autobiographical novel – yes, Summertime! This prize is named for the highly acclaimed Australian novelist and short-story writer. Summertime is the final work in Coetzee’s fictionalised memoir. The first two parts are Boyhood and Youth.
