The Rowing Lesson In a Different Time

Those are the titles of the novels that earned writers Anne Landsman and Peter Harris R75 000 each at this year’s Sunday Times Literary Awards on 1 August. Peter Harris took the prestigious Alan Paton Award (the 20th anniversary of this prize) for non-fiction for In a Different Time.

The Rowing Lesson is doing well for Anne Landsman – besides receiving the Fiction Prize at this awards ceremony, it earned her the English award at the 2009 M-Net Literary Awards (as well as R30 000).
