Choosing the right wedding dress can be a daunting task, so we asked a few of our favourite designers for some bridal fashion advice.

"I always tell my clients that the only rules I have when it comes to a wedding dress is that it must be the most beautiful dress she has ever worn and that it must capture her spirit and essence. Whatever size or shape you are, be true to yourself. That way you will always look your best" - Karen Ter Morshuizen from Lunar

"The best advice we can give is to wear the correct underwear, whatever your size. Don't try to look different to who you usually are - a lot of brides do hair and make-up and end up looking totally different to the woman her fiancé met. We really don't understand why!" - Malcolm Klûk and Christiaan Du toit from Klûk CGDT

"My number one rule for brides? Get advice from your designer on what works for you and what doesn't. Whether you're a size 32 or 38, you need to let the designer embrace your current size, your character and your best feautures." - David Tlale

"A wedding dress shouldn't be about following trends. Listen to your dress designer and always go for something that suits your colouring and body shape. I don't think wedding dresses have to be white, but if that's what the bride wants, then it is her decision" - Gideon
