Charleigh and I met through a mutual friend while studying at film school and we hit it off straight away - we moved to Australia together to settle and make a home. On a cool New Year's eve at midnight, in a small seaside town in the regional area of Western Australia on a small wooden jetty with a blue moon reflection over looking the still ocean, Charleigh dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife - to which I happily squealed yes. It was an obvious choice for us to "go home" to South Africa to get married amongst family and friends. Our magical wedding was a colourful Moroccan inspired celebration of love complete with a horse and carriage ride to the chapel, a Belly Dancer for entertainment and a 3 course Moroccan meal for all our guests, I also sang a song for my husband with my sister accompanying me on the guitar. We had a large bridal party of 5 Bridesmaids wearing long elegant Moroccan princess inspired gowns created from my design and 5 Groomsmen with matching made ties, custom engraved cufflinks and a rose each. Our day celebrated everything "us" and incorporated all those we love - each guest received a small coloured glass Moroccan oil lantern as a gift and their name written in Arabic on their name cards. It was the start of the rest of our lives and it was the perfect way to celebrate and share our love and future with all those we love.
