Chris & I first met at a video store he used to work for 10 years ago. I was 15 years old when I met him but I knew that he is the one I wanted. We became friends and shared a kiss once but the age gap between us was too big and we went our separate ways. Three years ago our paths crossed again at a mutual friend’s braai and we connected. It took a little help from my problematic car and a couple sweet sms’s to realise that the time was right and our life together began. We were dating for two years when Chris had to go work in Cape Town. At the end of September Off he went and I stayed behind. We planned for me to go down in the December of 2010. The months dragged but finally Christmas day arrived. I landed in Cape Town and when I finally got to him he told me to look at his new tattoo. I had a look and all of a sudden he was on one knee, ring in one hand a permanent marker in the other and I am reading “Fabs will you marry me?” with a yes and a no box tattooed just above his knee. I was so shocked and overwhelmed and without a second though I grabbed the marker and crossed the yes box. We kissed and the whole airport erupted with applause. A few days later we went to the tattoo shop and I got to tattoo the cross in permanently myself. We got married 10 months later) on our 3 year anniversary. The ceremony and reception took place at Gillooly’s farm Bedfordview. It was a magic day with 90 of our closest friends and family around us. Our colour scheme was black and burnt Orange with candelabras decorating our guest’s tables. The speeches were heartwarming but Chris’s was amazing. We at divine food and then started our party. Our wedding was very relaxed with lots of laughs. Fun was had by everyone. We wanted our wedding to represent us in every way. So the more unique it was the better and we nailed it. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our life and I am truly blessed to have my best friend for the rest of mine. Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Behrens.
