As the saying goes, it was all unexpected…and the rest is history! Paul and I met through a mutual friend and while it was fun to let Paul do a healthy amount of chasing, I was instantly hooked! If our beautiful farm yard of animals, currently sitting at three dogs, two cats, two potbelly pigs and three cows, wasn’t enough, Paul surprised me with a pink customized off- road bike for my 21st birthday. It didn’t stop there and our love for the outdoors and our Farm home, travelling and good food was fed with a hearty sense of humor and endless romance. It makes my heart want to burst with excitement when I think about our Christmas engagement in December 2010. Paul was very traditional about asking my Dad for permission and on Christmas morning went down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was a fantastic day for celebration, surrounded by family and friends, Christmas spirit and Paul’s Italiano romantic heritage: pasta, vino, friends, family and festivities! Which continued to flow through to our engagement party’s theme a few weeks later. We decided on a nine-month engagement, which gave us enough time to plan without having to wait to long to long! Paul was the perfect wedding planner, helping with so many of the smaller details that my friends even started calling him “Franc!” The wedding was the perfect outdoor, bush-themed wedding at Leopard’s Lodge, on September 17th 2011. I didn’t believe it when I read about other weddings, but that moment of walking down the isle and seeing Paul’s smile, is truly unforgettable. The whole day was exactly how I had always imagined it; a huge celebration with all our closest friends and family, good food, vino and hilarious laughs. All the details fell perfectly into place, from the flowers and the food, to the outfits. But my biggest surprise was the custom cake topper Paul organized; him and I riding off on his Harley as hubby and wife. It was the funniest, happiest day of our lives…so far...
