Steven and Bianca Stewart
Married on Sat, May 21st 2011 at The Oyster Box Hotel, Umhlanga
Bride: Bianca
Groom: Steven
Wedding date: Sat, May 21st 2011
Venue: The Oyster Box Hotel, Umhlanga - Kwazulu-Natal
It all started on the dark dance floor of Tiger Tiger in Durban at the beginning of 2005. Although having mutual friends, Steve and I had never met before as he had just got back from working in America. I was taken aback by his confidence and he was apparently very interested in the sexy blonde (I love that bit of the story!). After spending more time chatting than dancing a spark had been ignited - we had something special and both knew it straight away. We took our time and got to know each other well and after 4 years of getting to know each other we had developed a wonderful trusting and honest relationship and were ready to take the next step of getting engaged. We looked at rings but nothing really happened (or so I thought). To my complete surprise while on a traditional summer holiday to Cape Vidal Steve popped the question while we were on a walk on a sunset beach with a ring he had designed and had made up! I really suspected nothing; as far as I knew there was no ring so unable to speak I nodded my answer. On return to the holiday cottage it was evident that Steve's family knew all about this and had set up a little engagement party complete with prawns and champagne (which I carried into the house under the impression that it was a bag of books – sneaky mother in law!) After about a year of enjoying our engagement we got married on the most beautiful May Day at the Oyster Box Hotel. We were surprised at how beautiful and sentimental a wedding we had planned and it was the most magical and happy day of our lives! We took our first steps together as man and wife surrounded by family and close friends. We could not have asked for any more, everything was perfect. It has been a couple of months since the wedding and after the honeymoon we are back to reality, our relationship now within the security of marriage is more confident and our love for each other has just grown deeper.
