Kim and Dale's wedding

How did you meet?

Dale and I went to the same High School and we were friends throughout school. We remained friends after school and we started dating a year out of High School.

How did he propose?

We went away for the weekend to a Game Lodge and Dale had arranged a game drive for us the afternoon we arrived. He had organised for us to have a picnic in a dry river bed. We arrived at the spot, got out the vehicle and Dale proposed to me before we enjoyed our picnic. We then enjoyed a private dinner that the lodge had organised especially for us.

How did you decide on your venue?

We wanted a small outdoor wedding and Toadbury Hall was accommodating to our request allowing us to use their Hotel gardens.

What was the style or theme? 

As our wedding was mid summer and outdoors, we chose the bright colours of green and pink to go along with the colours of the summer season.

Favourite moments/highlights

Walking through the gardens down the path towards my dad as he waited for me with my bouquet and tears in his eyes. Secondly, walking down the aisle with my dad towards Dale and seeing his face light up as he saw me. And the other one is walking to our song, towards the table full of our family and closest friends as husband and wife.

The flowers

The rectangular boxes all contained the same arrangement made up of pink roses and gerbera daisies with green chinkcheree and button chrysanthemums. The square boxes contained various arrangements made up of these flowers.

My advice to brides-to-be

It is possible to save costs by doing a lot of things by yourself, that is flower arrangements and stationary but costs should not be cut down when it comes to your wedding dress and a great photographer as these are the memories that you will carry with you forever.
