Sun Re-Leaf
Now you can shade your eyes from the sun using environmentally friendly sunglasses.
Who says you can’t do your bit for mother earth AND look good at the same time? Local label Hout Couture certainly get it right. By combining a timeless yet quirky material such as wood with contemporary sunglass designs they have come up with a product that will add a unique flair to your outfit as well as benefit Mother Nature. The creators use American Walnut, Sapele and White Oak to create frames that boast the promise that no two pairs are the same, as each pair is made from a different section of the tree.
Wood is a much more environmentally friendly material than plastic, but to make up for the products used to create the lenses Hout Couture have pledged to plant a seed for every pair of sunglasses sold.
On the fashion front we love their take on the now classic wayfarer shape, which would look great paired with some summery sandals and a maxi dress for balmy beach days and lazy Sundays. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on a cat eye pair, which I will pair with a head scarf and red lipstick for a new take on the retro trend.
