Masterchef South Africa

12 March 2012

FAIRLADY food editor, Justine Kiggen can't wait for this reality TV show to start.

This month sees the arrival of Masterchef South Africa to our TV screens on Tuesday 20 March on M-Net at 19.30 (DStv channel 101) and I, for one, can’t wait. The series is being shot on Nederburg Wine Estate in Paarl, and will feature three local judges: Peter Goffe-Wood, Benny Masekwameng and Andrew Atkinson, with the food sponsored by Woolworths and an R8 million prize package for the first South African Masterchef.

Having been an avid fan of first the UK and then the Australian Masterchef, I think this is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for South African cooks as it offers a platform to showcase all our homegrown talent.  Good luck to all the contestants!

For more information about the show, you can visit the Masterchef South Africa website.
