Pizza with a purpose

Col’Cacchio pizzeria raises a whopping R300 000 for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in only four months.

Pizza with a purpose

From exotic toppings to creative flavour combinations, Col’Cacchio pizzeria has always stepped up the game. A far cry from just another pizza joint, their menu boasts decadent combinations such as Piquanté Peppers, Mint sauce and black mushrooms (save your predictable ham and mushroom for another time) and quirky names such as The Smokey babe (Asian deboned Smoked Ribs, Red Onion, fresh Corn, Spring Onion, Mint and Coriander) and The Nacho Libre (Jerk Spiced Chicken Breast Strips, home-made Guacamole, Tomato Chilli Salsa, fresh Coriander and Sour Cream)

I’ve always been drawn to Col’Cacchio’s unique take on the art of the perfect pizza, but am now even more eager to treat myself to one of their pizzas after hearing that they raised over R300 000 for The Children’s Hospital Trust for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital through their Celebrity Chef initiative. The money raised will hugely benefit the trust, who focus all their fundraising on upgrading vital medical equipment and specialist training for doctors and nurses across Africa. Patients’ hospital experiences will be improved, cross-infection will be reduced and better conditions will be created for both parents and staff, all thanks to Col’Cacchio.
