The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby, a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald remains one of the best American novels ever written. The award-winning movie director Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation will be released later this year starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy and Nick Carraway as Tobey Maguire.

The story is set in the 1920s and revolves around Midwesterner Nick Carraway (Maguire) who is lured into Jay Gatsby’s lavish world of parties every Saturday night. America has just fully recovered from the war and life is one big party for the newly rich. After a while Nick discovers cracks in Gatsby's perfect life. Through his eyes we see how the rich live and the struggles that they go through. Tragedy is about to strike and tear apart their seemingly perfect lives.
