3 August – 9 September: ArcelorMittal and Southern Guild Top Contemporary SA Design Premier steel producer ArcelorMittal South Africa and Southern Guild, the leading platform for contemporary South African design, will host a six week exhibition to celebrate South Africa top designers. The exhibition will showcase new work from more than a hundred artists and designers such as William Kentridge, Conrad Botes, Brett Murray, and many more. 4 August: Franschhoek Winter Wines Celebrate the final days of winter in style with Franschhoek Winter Wines. More than 30 of the valley’s finest wineries will be showcasing their top winter wines. Participating wineries include, amongst others, La Bri, Morena, Colmant, Môreson, Anthonij Rupert’s Cape of Good Hope and Terra del Capo, Franschhoek Cellars, Bellingham, Noble Hill, Leopard’s Leap, La Motte, Solms-Delta and Haut Espoir. Wine lovers will have the opportunity to browse at their leisure and engage with the winemakers and taste all wine on the show. 8 August: KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra August is women’s month and the KwaZulu-Natal Orchestra is celebrating this month with a lunch hour music concert. Award-winning singer Sibongile Khumalo will be leading the orchestra with many other musicians in celebration of this month. Don’t miss it. 10-12 August: Robertson Slow Festival The Robertson Slow Festival is all about taking the time to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures that life has to offer. 11 August: Laborie lazy days market Women’s Day celebration This year you can celebrate women's day with Laborie Lazy Days' Market. 11-17 August: Katherine Jenkins Concert Are you a big fan of classical music? Katherine Jenkins who enjoyed phenomenal sell-out success with her previous concerts in South Africa is back by popular demand. She has released eight studio albums and won numerous BRIT Awards. 18-19 August: Johannesburg Cap Classique & Champagne Celebration If you love your bubbles make sure you do not miss this event. 23 August: Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Showcase To celebrate 30 years of winemaking excellence this year, the Guild, an association of some of the finest winemakers will showcase some of their best wines at the Guild Auction. The event will be open to the general public, wine collectors as well as the liquor and restaurant trade. Visitors will have the opportunity to bid on rare signed bottles from previous Guild Auctions and have a chance to taste these special wines. 30 August: Taste wines from around the world at Durbanville Hills Come and taste a selection of Sauvignon Blancs from Chile, France and New Zealand, and Merlots from California, Australia and France at Durbanville Hills. Red-wine maker Wilhelm Coetzee will discuss difference in production methods, style and taste profile.
