Holiday Fun with Artjamming

Have you made plans for your kids over the holiday period? Artjamming has the solution. Artjamming will be offering a holiday program aimed at entertaining your kids as well as teaching them valuable painting techniques used by renowned artists. Children will then have the opportunity to apply these techniques and create their own master pieces at any Artjamming store near you.

Where: All Artjamming stores

2-3 June: Soup Sip and Bread Festival

Don your gumboots, pashminas and rain dance your way to the annual Soup Sip and Bread Winter Festival in the Durbanville Wine Valley. Look out for indulgent soup and wine pairings like gewürztraminer with sweet potato soup, and merlot with hearty beef soup. Celebrate winter, revel in feel-good winter fire places and cosy conversation.

03 June: King and Queens of Comedy

4 Cornerz Entertainment proudly presents the Kings & Queens of Comedy. You'll be in great company and we can guarantee laughs because the line-up includes: Joey Rasdien; Chris Forrest; Marc Lottering; Trevor Gumbi; Darren Simpson; Tumi Morake; Angel Campey and Tracy Klaas.

Where: Emperors Palace, Johannesburg

 07- 10 June: Robertson Wine Valley’s Wacky Wine Weekend

This year marks the ninth anniversary of the Robertson Wine Valley’s biggest annual wine festival. With 48 wineries showcasing their wines, visitors can expect even more festivity and celebration. 

The Wacky Wine Weekend will embrace the usual line-up of fun-filled activities such ‘meet-the-winemaker’ tastings; brandy tours and tastings; fun wine competitions; river cruises; a mountain bike challenge; the Robertson Farmers Market and local performing artists. The Valley will also offer delicious food and buddy buses available for visitors.

Where: Robertson Wine Valley

Times: 8am-7pm

Cost: R90.00 for the whole weekend.

Buddy Bus costs vary between R127 and R400 per person.


8 June: Hugh Masekela Heritage

If you love jazz Hugh Masekela will be performing some of his greatest hits in June. He will be perfoming to celebrate and restore African heritage.

Where: The Lyric At Gold Reef City Casino

8 June: Zahara Live DVD - The Beginning

If you are a big fan of Zahara you will be happy to hear that in celebration of her burgeoning career as South Africa's most loved Afro-Soul artist, Zahara is set to record her first live DVD at this concert.

Where: Carnival City

Time: 8pm

15 – 17 June: Cook Franschhoek

Following in the success of last year’s event, visitors to Franschhoek can once again look forward to another interactive foodie experience. 

Known as SA’s leading wine destination and gourmet capital, food and wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to join some of Franschhoek’s highly acclaimed chefs and winemakers as they present hands-on demonstrations. Participating restaurants include, amongst others, Cotage Fromage, Liam Tomlin Food at Leopard’s Leap Vineyards, Le Quartier Françias, Bread and Wine at Môreson and Ryan’s Kitchen.

16 June: Laborie Lazy Days Market

Celebrate Youth Day and Father’s Day at this great market. Dads will be treated to a spectacular vintage car exhibition, as well as a selection of international and local beers. Outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to a fun-filled hike, suitable for the entire family.

Kiddies’ activities will be available throughout the day, and include face painting, jumping castles, balloon moulding and so much more.

23-29 June: Fine Brandy Fusion

This event will be characterised by South Africa’s finest brandies, inventive brandy cocktails, MC Proverb, internationally renowned mixologists shaking it up and aerial artist, Samantha Kotze taking to the sky.

Time: 5-9pm
