31 October- 31 January 2013: Body Worlds

Ever wanted to know how our bodies really work? The exhibition Body Worlds and The Cycle Of Life will answer that exact question. It is the first exhibition of its kind to inform the visitor about anatomy, physiology and health by viewing real human bodies. This journey under the skin shows the complexity, resilience and vulnerability of the human body through anatomical studies of the body in distress, disease and optimal health.

3 November 2012 – Nappy Run

If exercising for a cause appeals to you, join in the festive 5km Nappy Run on Saturday while you help children with disabilities by donating nappies and money to this worthy cause. Last year, the Nappy Run campaign raised 100 000 nappies – this year, they are looking to quadruple that figure! Run, walk or stumble over the finish line wearing a nappy any way you wish – a cloth nappy over your running shorts or on your head as a bandana!

Where: Johannesburg Zoo
Time: 9am. Registration is from 7.30am- 8.30am.
Price: Zoo entry fee applies. Expect to pay between R36 and R58 per entry ticket.

4 November 2012: iThemba Avon Justine Family Fun Walk in aid of breast cancer

Join in the crusade against breast cancer by walking for a good cause. There is a choice between a 10km or 5km route meaning the whole family can come along to support. While pre-registration has closed you can still register from Thursday-Saturday at Hellenic Soccer Club, Mouille Point.

5-6 November 2012: Organic Vegetable Gardening Course

Become a gardening guru with this fantastic course. You will learn how, where and when to grow certain veggies. You'll also learn all about looking after your soil, organic insecticides, hoop houses, and much, much more. If you can't make this course watch out for their December course at Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse in Drakensberg.

9-11 November: Look and Feel Good Expo

10 November 2012 – Stories van de Caap at Fyndraai Restaurant

Fyndraai restaurant at Solms-Delta wine estate will be hosting an evening of delicious Cape-style fare and an intimate story-telling experience as storyteller Marij Geldenhuys will tell of the origins and enslavement of the Cape’s indigenous people. She’ll use a harmonica and a guitar as she plays traditional Cape folk songs in what is sure to be a moving and memorable evening. 10 November 2012: Drostdy-Hof Festive Market

Drostdy-Hof is kick-starting the festive season with an annual market day. This is certainly a fun-filled family outing! Visitors can sample freshly baked goods and choose from aloe products, print canvases and many other items to the strains of great live music, while sipping on delicious Drostdy-Hof wines. Stalls will be set up in the beautiful Cape Dutch style museum and also on the grounds outside, while a jumping castle will keep the kids happy.

23-25 November: The Bodysculpture Show

We may have a friend that has tried it, or we have watched it on reality shows, but just how much do really know about cosmetic surgery? The Bodysculpture Show is the first ever Cosmetic Beauty and Anti-Aging Expo to be held in South Africa. It will introduce the public to top cosmetic surgeons, cosmetic procedures and products available. 30 November 2012: Movie and dinner screening
