South Africa, 2006 – can you remember your life then? We’re interested in how you feel now, as compared to then (other than six years older, of course!)
A few external factors to remind you: there was a huge fire on table mountain, it was the beginning of the Eskom load-shedding, with national rolling blackouts; Tsotsi won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film; there were Telkom, Satawu and student strikes; Jacob Zuma was acquitted of rape charges (and his corruption charges were struck off the bill); Herschelle Gibbs was questioned in India; Nelson Mandela was given the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award; and it was also the year that PW Botha and Anton Rupert died. Remember all that?
