We round up four of the biggest stories this week!

Launch of the iPad Mini

A lighter, smaller Apple tablet has been launched. On Tuesday, Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPad mini. The mini measures 20cm diagonally compared to the standard iPad’s 24.6cm, which means you are able to comfortably hold it in one hand. It’s also lighter, weighing half of what the iPad 4 weighs! In FAIRLADY’s October issue, we featured a story on the acclaimed documentary Searching for Sugarman. After rumours of Rodriguez’s suicide, two South Africans went on a search for their music hero. Now, the search for Sugarman is over! Big concerts announced on Thursday that Rodriguez is coming to Jo'burg and Cape Town in February next year and tickets are in hot demand. Lance Armstrong gets stripped of all his titles

Armstrong’s prolific cycling career has always been controversial. There have always been suspicions that he used performance-enhancing drugs when competing in the Tour de France – which he famously won a record-breaking seven times. Fans and critics have always been in awe of him, but now that sense of awe has largely turned into disappointment as his ongoing legal battle fighting doping accusations have come to an end. On Monday the United States Anti-Doping Agency ruled that Armstrong is to be stripped of all his titles and will never be allowed to cycle professionally again.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel tie the knot

Ever since we first saw that huge engagement ring on Jessica Biel’s finger back in December 2011, we’ve been wondering when these two would tie the knot. The big day finally arrived on Friday and, amidst rumours, the two managed to keep their wedding rather secretive and private. We do know that the week-long celebration was held in Southern Italy, and that guests included the likes of Jimmy Fallon, Timbaland and Beverly Mitchell – who acted in TV series 7th Heaven alongside Biel in the late 90s and early 2000s. We also know that Biel’s ethereal, pink dress was designed by Giambattista Valli who is a friend of Biel’s and also designed her mother’s and bridesmaids' dresses. Timberlake was ill on the day, but his spirits were high – he serenaded Biel with a song he had written, and the couple partied late into the night.
