Love your body
There are just so many reasons to love your body and the FAIRLADY team explain why they love their bodies.
During the month of love why not take the time to love and appreciate your wonderful, unique body - flaws and all.
In a quest to help women to accept themselves, Emily McCombs, a writer at XOJane.com, recently asked readers to send in photos of their unphotoshopped stomachs and make-up free faces. The result is a wonderful collection of photos and stories that showcase how different we all are and how proud we should be of that fact.
We asked the FAIRLADY team to complete the sentence: I love my body because...

'It’s strong. I’ve realised that your body doesn’t need to look a certain way for you to marvel at it. My body allows me to do Pilates, jog and play endlessly with my nieces and nephew. It lets me dance up a storm, walk through new cities I’m discovering and even take the odd overindulgence of wine and/or chocolate. I love my body because it actually is quite amazing.' - Jennifer Searle, web editor |

'I love my body because I have put it through hell and yet it still remains strong and powerful. After years of excessive dieting and leading the stereotypical unhealthy "party girl" lifestyle my body has finally found a rhythm we both agree on that allows me to eat whatever I want and have the strength to exercise and feel super strong. That joy and comfort far outweighs the anguish of squeezing into those size zero jeans.' - Catherine Zachariou, senior beauty assistant |

'I love my body because... it’s mine, and if I can’t love my own body then what – or who – can I love? On a purely cosmetic – but just as satisfying – level: I love my curves, my curls, and my cleavage.' - Elizabeth Atmore, health editor |

'It allows me to experience orgasms. And scrambled eggs. And swimming. And hugs. And hour-long baths. And temper tantrums. And wine.' - Robyn MacLarty, senior sub-editor |

'... of its ability to adapt. For example, when I decided to change from being sedentary to doing a bit of running (a while back) it was remarkable how quickly my body rose to the challenge. I let that lapse, but I’ve recently started to exercise a bit more often, and it’s wonderful to feel my exercise sessions becoming easier.' - Anna Rich, senior editor: departments |

'I'm lucky enough to have one that is healthy and whole. Complaining about your hips always seems a bit shallow when you see amazing people like Oscar Pistorius and Natalie du Toit conquering the world!' - Liesl Pretorius, features writer |
