Worst date ever!

Worst date ever!

The no-show

My date said he would pick me up at 7.30pm. So 7.30 came and went ... 8.30 ... 9.30. He just never pitched (and these were the days before cellphones). I went to bed, and at 9 the next morning, there was a knock on the door and he showed up. His excuse? He’d been waylaid! There were no more dates with him. – Justine

The wash-out

What should have been a sun-kissed, coastal Vespa ride to Hermanus turned sour when the heavens opened and left us sodden, shivering and very far from home. A fireside hot chocolate improved matters somewhat, but I never left home without a raincoat again! – Peta

The age restriction

I was a rather naughty teenager who loved going to nightclubs. Luckily, at 16 I looked older than my years and everyone assumed I was about 21. One evening I was asked out on a date by a hunk of a guy I met at a club. I told him I was a full-time model. The date took place on a Sunday evening at a cosy little pizzeria in Yeoville. Things were going swimmingly when, horror of horrors, my step-father’s best friend spotted me across the restaurant and yelled out, ‘Candice! It’s a Sunday evening, you’ve got school tomorrow – shouldn’t you be in bed?’ I was mortified, and can’t even remember the rest of the evening. I never lied about my age again. – Candice-Lee

I can't remember the date, but on the way home I sat right up against the car's passenger door, terrified he would pounce on me. When he stopped the car outside my place, before I could do or say anything, he said "OK - you can run now, no need to be scared any more." I've never forgotten.

Wendy

I was seeing this guy for a few weeks when I started to get phone calls and sms's from this girl claiming to be his girlfriend. I confronted him on one of our "dates" about this girl and he admitted that she was his girlfriend and the reason why he never told me was that he didn't want to hurt me! Needless to say I was hurt and felt used. I've also never seen or spoken to him since.

I was set up by some friend of mine on a blind date we were supposed to have met at the Park station i told my friend I would be wearing all white and this man said he would be wearing something black it came to that day. I went into the coffee shop and there was a very old man in there wearing i quickly went in and bought a newspaper and dashed out before he could say anything and all the time he was looking at me I ran out for dear life and will never go on a blind date again.
