Win with Deon Meyer

21 May 2012

Two lucky readers and their partners will join South Africa’s most successful crime author on an exclusive BoekBedonnerd Crime Bus trip through the Karoo.

Competition

If you’re a fan of crime fiction, you’ll be waiting desperately for the launch of South African crime- writing supremo Deon Meyer’s latest book, 7 Days.

To celebrate, two FAIRLADY readers and their partners will join him this October for a once-in-a-lifetime book tour from Johannesburg to Booktown Richmond in the Northern Cape, as he launches 7 Days. Meyer will share with you his beloved Karoo and stories from his writing life, and tell you about his new book. You’ll overnight in Philippolis, the Stellenbosch of the Free State and birthplace of Sir Laurens van der Post, with a memorable Karoo lamb dinner in Oom Japie Se Huis, also home to one of the finest book- stores in South Africa.

You’ll then continue south over the Orange River to Richmond BoekBedonnerd Literary Festival, for three days of hanging out with authors, attending talks, signings and dinners, and exploring this special town that has re-invented itself through literary tourism.

Richmond is an impoverished town whose population barely survives on social grants. It’s now been established as SA’s first and only Booktown, and hosts two annual literary festivals, which help alleviate poverty by attracting tourism to the area. This tour with Deon Meyer promises to be a real page-turner. For more info: www.richmondnc.co.za.
